What I Did: I wanted to make a fun school-themed treat for the kids at the bus stop, as I’ve done for the first day of school for the past three years, and ran across these gorgeous cake pops on Pinterest. Mine did not turn out smooth and, well, red. Mine were lumpy, albino apple cake pops. I followed all of the instructions except for the candy coating – I tried to make my own. It didn’t turn out so well for me.

My Result:
Next Time I Will: Next time I will not try to make my own candy coating – I’ll buy the prepared melting wafers instead. I also won’t try to make something entirely new the night before I plan to serve them to 30 neighborhood kids! The kids and my husband thought that they tasted really good, but I had to swallow my pride when my children insisted upon taking one in to their teachers.
