What I Did: How cute is this project, right? So chic and classy, and the metallic just makes it gorgeous!! I was planning for this to go on a narrow wall in my bedroom–I thought the added color would be nice, and it’s just SO my style. Well…the Pinterest gods had other plans for me. Plans to laugh in my face!
The lines in my project aren’t defined, and it looks more like a fossil rubbing than anything else. I’m not quite sure how the pinned got their stencils to lie so nicely, short of using spray adhesive (I used take on the back of mine, which you can also see in parts of mine.).
Pinterest FAIL.

I tried this. . .my first clue that this would not be a good idea was that the instructions were NOT in English. Second clue (and third and fourth) was that I would never get it as defined on the canvas. I am glad to know I am not the only one who could not do this stupid pinterest craft.
12. December - 11:14 pmI’ve tried this before and it takes a bit to get a really defined edge. I got it to work well after using rubber cement on the stencils. It keeps all the edges down, but is easy to remove once everything’s dried sufficiently. Also, with stuff like grasses, making sure the grass is well spread out helps with definition.
29. January - 5:00 pmI’m so glad I saw this. I just saved this exact pin so I could try it. After reading this I will press my flowers between wax paper sheets in a book for a day or two so they will be spread out and flat. Hopefully my idea will work!
19. February - 9:29 amI tried this as a Christmas Present for a friend, I did use spray adhesive, but it was still a disaster. I did about 10 before I ended up with two that I was semi happy with.
24. February - 4:34 pmThey may look blurry, but they’re WAY better than when I tried it.
5. May - 5:46 pmThe original instructions show a removeable spray adhesive, so it must work with that…
