What I Did: I found this pin and was super excited to try it. It was not edible glitter. It was a melted-sugary-gloppy-mess, which in five seconds hardened like a rock. Thank you Pinterest for yet another success.

I did the same thing!!! so sad )’:
9. January - 7:18 pmI’m wondering if there is a missing final step, namely, once the colored-sugar-mess has cooled completely, crack (by using a rolling pin as a mallet) and then crushing the pieces in a mortar and pestle until desired glitter consistency reached. In theory, that should look glittery…maybe?

24. April - 5:23 pmI’ve done this before and I think you added too much food coloring! It shouldn’t be gloppy before you put it in the oven! Just enough to color the sugar and then you bake it dry! Once it’s baked dry you can just break up the little clumps and you get sort of glitter! (It’s still mostly just pretty colored sugar.)
