What I Did: I chose to make this cake for my roommate’s birthday. I wanted to surprise her when she returned from work. The jar cake became a volcano of cake batter! It was a pretty volcano, but not quite was I was going for.
My Result:
Next Time I Will: I would keep in mind that the cake will rise tremendously and follow the instructions on layer size!

I think this is a really neat idea, and I’m sure it would have turned out better if you only filled the jars half full. I would definitely try it….but I’d use the neon colors that the original recipe calls for. I’m guessing you used standard food colors? the colors in your pic look a little muddy, not as bright as the picture on the original post.
