What I Did: It seemed like the perfect little cake for a 4th of July party. Since I don’t have any experience with fondant, I figured I’d just do my best with butter cream frosting. Obviously, I’m not wildly skilled with that either.
The recipe also called for cutting the top of the cake off to expose the watermellony looking inside. It seems they used something more professional that the serrated knife I used.
Next Time I Will: Admit to myself BEFORE I start that nothing I make at home will EVER look that cute and not even try in the first place. And the original author had the gumption to call it “so easy to make.” Smh.
