Name: Laura

Original Inspiration: http://pinterest.com/pin/104356916337642201/

What I Did: The read the directions for a couple of different recipes very carefully and knew I had to prop up the avocados just so. I did and put the first egg in. The whites went everywhere all over the pan. I decided to put the avocado halves in ramekins for support and that seemed to work better. The white still dripped down.

I baked at 425 for 20 min. I checked and decided to leave it it a bit more.

The yolk got crusty on top, which was not appetizing. The avocado skin gets really soft and stuck to the ramekin so when took it out it tore apart. Also, what they don’t tell you, is that these kind of stink when cooking.

My Result:

Next Time I Will: I would definitely scoop out some of the avocado – it makes sense to make more room for the egg. Some recipes do that and some don’t. I didn’t. Also, if using the ramekin, oil it down a bit before putting the avocado in so it doesn’t stick.

What I Did: Over the past year and a half, I’ve been working really hard to adopt a healthier lifestyle. However, this pesky sweet tooth of mine persists. So, I’m always on the lookout for healthy, simple, tasty snacks. I’ve had success with other healthy Pinterest snacks before so I was hopeful about this one. Plus, I already had all the materials on hand! Awesome. Well, that was the only win of this.

I followed the instructions exactly, and what resulted was a gooey, bitter chocolate, overly-sweetened banana mess! The flavors did not blend well and neither did the banana. It was definitely a fail. I managed to eat about two bites before tossing the banana/alkaline-flavored abomination and opting for an apple.

My Result:

Next Time I Will: If I did make this again, I would use a banana that was less ripe. I think the ripeness caused it to be too sweet and too mushy for the recipe. I would also use less cocoa powder, a whole egg, and a little more sweetener.

Original Inspiration: http://pinterest.com/pin/276689970828809345/

What I Did: I followed the recipe – pretty much to the dot! Spent half a day making the pineapple filling and the dough (I found the recipe with the picture on a facebook post).. For some reason the dough ended up quite crumbly and I couldn’t shape the bunnies… Though trust me – I TRIED! Feeling all disappointed with my efforts I looked at the original picture – and concluded that the bunnies on the left looked like they were made in a mold, not sculpted by hand…

My Result:

Next Time I Will: In spite of looking rather ugly, they tasted quite good
