Hello everyone! It’s me Jenna, the editor of Pinterest Fail. Things are getting back to normal for me, so I think regular posting should resume within the next week or so. Of course, that always depends on the submissions I’m getting from you! Thanks so much for sending them in.
After I had my baby I somehow managed to have a Pinterest Fail of my very own that I wanted to share with you.
I decided to make my son a cake from scratch for his third birthday celebration. I set out to make him a pound cake in a bundt pan, with the intention to recreate this. As I was mixing up the first cake I realized that only two adults would be consuming this cake, and making two pound cakes would not only be expensive but leave us with tons of leftovers! So I turned to Pinterest again and decided to try making a cake that was a rainbow inside. Should be easy enough, right?

My result:

As with most Pinterest fails, my problem is that I thought I knew enough to improvise. I wanted to leave part of the original white frosting color in part of the cake to have more variety, but I needed to add in way more colored frosting to see the rainbow effect! I actually did yellow, pink, blue, and green, but you can’t even see the green in the rainbow.
Now that I’ve written this post I need to stop staring at this picture. I have several slices sitting in my freezer right now and I’m salivating just thinking about a few bites. But I’ve got baby weight to lose!
